thingy.

current music: i can make a mess like nobody's business - the best happiness money can buy.

Inari did it, reminded me to do it. It's a little late to reflect on 2004 but fuck it!

1. What did you do in 2004 that you'd never done before?
Got a job, smoked pot (tut tut), cried really meaningfully (not just cos i didnt get my own way!), been really fucking confused by girls, told a teacher to fuck off!

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I never have, have wanted to but keep forgetting to.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Mum's friends' daughter, does that count?

4. Did anyone close to you die?
No.

5. What countries did you visit?
Spain, random places in England.

6. What would you like to have in 2005 that you lacked in 2004?
A girlfriend.

7. What date from 2004 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Don't remember exact dates but February time and Summer I spose.

8. What was your biggest achievement(s) of the year?
Finishing school and getting reasonable results, getting a job, being a little more independant and less of a pussy.

9. What was your biggest failure?
Girls..

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Nothing major to report I don't think.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
Friendship... Just kidding! Better clothes, better music, computer games, presents for people.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
A lot of people. Char for being Char, Scott for random chats about anything and everything, Sam for staying as immature as me, Susan for putting up with me when we met, Niamh for forgiving and forgetting what happened, Mum & Dad for being pretty decent parents (most of the time!)

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Teachers (Le Sweaty Cunt), Moxham (once), Glastonbury ticket people, people in relationships!

14. Where did most of your money go?
Petrol for t'scooter, beer, computer games, clothes, credit for phone, in my bank.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Meeting new people (also shit-scared), finishing school (also shit-scared!), seeing Limehouse Lizzy, Glastonbury (although I didn't go).

16. What song will always remind you of 2004?
There's not really a song. Maybe the Brand New album (Deja Entendu), random other songs that'll bore you all if I list them.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder?: Around about the same, last year it was school and girls making me sad this year it's... rabbits?
ii. thinner or fatter? Put on 900lbs. Then lost it all, so the same more or less.
iii. richer or poorer? Richer i guess.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Gone to more gigs, spent more time with my mates I no longer see, speaking out, arguing, tried harder with girls.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Thinking (when it wasn't school related), lazing about, moaning, moaning about girls.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
It was spent in Spain, dear chap.

22. Did you fall in love in 2004?
No.

23. How many one-night stands?
0.

24. What was your favorite TV program?
Shameless, I'm Alan Partridge, Family Guy, The Office, Soccer AM, Bo Selecta.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Don't hate, just don't like as much at times.

26. What was the best book you read?
Only read one book. So, The Untouchable by Gerald Seymour.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Brand New. Lots of others.

28. What did you want and get?
...

29. What did you want and not get?
Lots of things.

30. What was your favorite film of this year?
The Butterfly Effect. Few others.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
Attached balloons to my scooter, went out for a meal with some of my chums, got drunk, was 17.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Someone to cuddle.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2004?
Clothes on the floor. Pick up. Wear.

34. What kept you sane?
Friends, music and beer sometimes.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Loads! Gwen Stefani, schwing!

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
Don't care to be honest. Politics are for old people.

37. Who did you miss?
Friends that I didn't see since leaving school.

38. Who was the best new person you met?
Lots.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2004:
Life lesson 1: Girls don't like boys that are nice and actually give a shit about them, they seem far more concerned with people who will make them cry and fuck them about.
Life lesson 2: You rarely get a 2nd chance at anything.
Life lesson 3: Being shy gets you nowhere.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
" I'm heaven sent, don't you dare forget... " Brand New - Ok, I Believe You But My Tommy Gun Don't
No, that's a bit cocky...
" This is a lesson in procrastination, I kill myself because I'm so frustrated, and every single second that I put it off means another moment that I gotta race the clock " Brand New - Failure By Design

Can you feel the pessimism oozing from this?!

It's shit though and makes no sense!
If a girl I was keen on pissed me and started being horrible towards me then I'd just give up!
But it seems as though every girl around me that is in a relationship is with a cunt. They are treated like shit, cry over their boyfriend and still go back for more; and the cycle starts again. It really baffles me.
It's as if girls want to be treated badly?
Then again maybe not cos I don't like being nasty to people intentionally; im a big softie!
Don't girls want a nice bloke?

    rant over! :P
